Its a Party with Chex Mix!

My whole life my parents would always buy trail mixes never once thought hey I can do this. So today I had a recipe from Chex Mix which is Tropical Island Chex Mix.

It took me about 15 mins to through it all together, all it is, is taking your favorite things and mixing them up. The Tropical Island recipe called for is:

8 cups of Rice Chex cereal (you can try any flavor you would like but the rice holds the rest of the mix best)
1 cup of shredded coconut  (if you like I love so I used)
1 cup of dried banana chips
1 7oz package dried tropical fruit mix
1 3oz of macadamia nuts
3 tbs of butter or margarine (butter taste better)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup of pineapple or oj (I didn't have either so I used tropical mango Gatorade)

You take everything and mix it in a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter and add the brown sugar and juice pour over the rest of the mix stir (I found using your hands worked best) and mix until everything is coated in the butter, juice, sugar mixture.

Place the finished product in microwave for 8 mins stirring every 2 so everything comes out a brown color, once out of microwave pour out onto wax paper and let cool. Once cool enjoy!

Its a great treat, my kids like it because it had a sweetness to it.

You can pick up all these ingredients at your local Publix. Chex mix is always a great place to start for a personal trail mix of your own.
