Summer Brunch with Dixie Vodka

With the Summer break starting for most of us, we as adults need a break  and what a better way to enjoy then having brunch with friends and family. When I think of brunch, I think cocktails which also work great for any occasion but throughout the summer you need a quick pick me up that taste great and helps to relax the mind.

Dixie Vodka was born out of the need for a craft vodka with an authentic Southern pedigree. Made for Southerners by Southerners, Dixie Vodka is hand-crafted out of Charleston, South Carolina. Named “The South’s Best Tasting Vodka”, Dixie Vodka is an all-American brand from packaging materials to its Southern-sourced ingredients. Dixie Vodka is sold in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Here are some fun ways to change up your every day cocktail into a fabulous southern cocktail!

Dixie Vodka has put a twist on the traditional Moscow Mule with the Orange Bullet. Orange juice, citrus vodka, ginger beer and lime make the Orange Bullet a refreshing and light brunch cocktail.

Fill glass with ice; combine:
2 oz. Dixie Citrus Vodka
2 oz. orange juice
4 oz. ginger beer
Juice of 1/4 lime
Stir; garnish with orange slice

Bye Bye Bellini, the Southern Sunrise cocktail has upped the anty: this cocktail features Dixie’s traditional southern vodka, orange juice, muddled peach, and a splash of champagne.

1 oz Dixie Southern Vodka
3 oz champagne
1 muddled peach
2 oz orange juice

Shake ingredients, then strain into a highball glass with ice. Top with 3 oz champagne.

Sip, Sip, Hooray! You CAN make a store-bought bloody mary mix taste gourmet. Dixie’s Black Pepper vodka + a dash of chili oil = the zesty Chili Mary.

2 oz Dixie Black Pepper Vodka
6 oz bloody mary mix
¼ tsp chili oil
juice of 1/4 lemon

Pour over ice, garnish with celery salt & black pepper.

For those whose mantra is "But First, Coffee", the Dixie Jitter is your ultimate brunch cocktail. Add iced coffee and kahlua to Dixie Mint Vodka, kahlua, and however much heavy cream you like. Go nuts.

1.5 oz Dixie Mint Vodka
4 oz iced coffee
.5 oz kahlua
1 oz heavy cream
Shake over ice and pour into tall glass, don’t strain. Can switch out Dixie Mint for Dixie Southern vodka and add .5 oz amaretto.
